Hello everyone!
My name is Morgan. I am fundraising a trip to Tokyo, Osaka and Kyoto, Japan. I am being given this opportunity through the Cinnamongirl Travelgirl cohort. Travelgirl gives young girls of color opportunities to visit different regions of the world to explore cultural differences while creating life-long bonds and friendships.
For some more context about myself; I really enjoy learning languages and have been learning Mandarin Chinese since kindergarten and German since 5th grade. In school, I enjoy both humanities and STEM classes, however, I have a specific passion for Chemistry and Hinduism.
While on the trip, I plan on comparing and contrasting different cultural differences between not only the United States and Japan, but China and Japan as well. It would be interesting to observe the differences and similarities of different cultures in Asia. I'm eager to learn about and document Japanese culture and social norms. Another aspect of the trip that I'm looking forward to is my fellow travelers! Everyone seems like such kind people and I'm excited to further get to know them and share experiences with them. A trip like this is a once in a lifetime opportunity and I am beyond grateful for all of your support.
