Hello Beautiful People! My name is Kendall Williams and I am a 17 year old Junior in High School at Regina Dominican High School in a small town just outside of Chicago, IL. I love to run, play sports, sing, paint, and take photos of the world around me!
Cinnamongirl, Inc is a wonderful organization that I was fortunate enough to interview for and gain entry. In this group of talented girls, I'm able to share experiences and conversation with other girls in different parts of the country that look like me. This is so important to me because in my every day life at school and playing on my sports teams, I am often only one of very few girls of color. It's been a great to connect with other girls that have similar life experiences.
In June of 2022, we will travel to the cities of Tokyo, Osaka and Kyoto Japan. I'm raising money and go on this once in a lifetime trip so that I can educate myself on the culture of an entirely different country as well as enjoy the experience with other girls of color just like me! Going on this trip would be my first time traveling outside of the United States, so going with a group of other girls of color would be the perfect opportunity to experience a new adventure with!
I am looking forward to seeing and documenting all that I see and do while I’m in Japan. I’m looking forward to tasting different foods, meeting different people, experiencing new cultures, and having the time of my life!
