Hello Beloved Family and Friends,

My name is Mariah and I am currently a junior at College Park High School. I have been selected as a member of the Cinnamongirl Inc Travel Girl cohort for my second year. Last year I traveled to Australia, my first time outside of the country, and fell in love with traveling to new places. As many of you know, I am passionate about traveling and history. With the assistance of Cinnamongirl’s Travel Girl cohort, I am being afforded an opportunity to travel to Japan next summer in June 2023. I am extremely excited to embark on this journey of immersing myself in Japanese culture.

In Japan, I anticipate delving deeper into their unique culture and admiring the historical monuments there. I am confident this experience will make great contributions to my continued development and expand my horizons about the broad world I live in. Today, Japan is known for their innovative technology. I can’t wait to see all the ways in which Japanese influence is prevalent in America.

Cinnamongirl has also extended this extraordinary invitation to my fellow sisters, high school aged girls of color, who are planning to experience the allure of Japan along with me. I have no doubt this will be an experience we will remember for years to come! I am truly excited to embark on this journey with Cinnamongirl.

I am planning to taste popular snacks in Japan that are not offered in America. I am also looking forward to experiencing the cuisine of Japan and trying new foods.

To make this trip possible, my goal is to raise $6,500 to cover my expenses. I am fundraising over the next few months in preparation for my trip. With the help of your donation, I know I can accomplish my goal!
