Join me as I plan to explore a country that is quite unrelated to my own. I would be grateful for any assistance you could give me to be able to go to Japan!!

We are no longer accepting donations on this campaign, but there are other ways for you to support us today!

$0 towards $6,500

Hello everyone,

If you did not already know, my name is Alexis Tarawali and I am currently a sophomore attending Lincoln High School in Stockton, California. I am a gymnast who takes a big interest in visual arts and computer science. Gymnastics has been a passion of mine for the majority of my life, and I take pride in getting through mental blocks and uplifting my team members to do their best. I am in drama right now and am discovering a newfound love for visual arts both acting and tech. I always try to look for new challenges and find ways to persevere. Creativity in unfamiliarity is ceaselessly the goal.

I have always been the kind of person to try new things and explore things outside of my comfort zone. That being said, I have been given the opportunity to travel to Japan through Cinnamongirl! Cinnamongirl is a program that allows me to connect with girls of color across the states. Traveling with girls my age who have had the same cultural upbringing as me, brings a good friendly environment for my first trip. I have never been out of the country so going to Japan will open opportunities for me to learn about a culture so different from my own.

We plan to go to Kyoto, Tokyo, and Osaka to explore the rich Japanese culture, traditional and modern. The total cost for this trip is $6,500, this will cover round trip air fare, hotel stay, excursions, and meals. The cost of the trip is beyond what I can produce myself, so I am kindly asking for your support in making donations to help this dream of mine come true. Donating to my trip will allow me to explore the cultural experience that I know would be extremely educational and benefit me greatly. Cultural diversity is important in society and this activity will give participants exposure and awareness of the nuances and sensitivity of other customs. I am profoundly grateful for any donations given. I plan to share my experience through pictures and videos with you when I come back to just show how much your donation was appreciated. No donation is too small, I love pennies!!!

Many thanks,

Alexis <3
