Hello Everyone!
My name is Riley Graden and I am a 16 year old sophomore at American Canyon High School. I am extremely passionate about history, traveling, helping youth and being of service to my community. I am involved in multiple extracurricular activities including college preparatory programs, community service, and Cinnamongirl. Cinnamongirl has given me the opportunity to be a part of their Travelgirl cohort, which provides girls of color with opportunities to explore our world and build relationships. Next summer, we will travel to Japan.
During our trip to Japan from June 19th - June 29th of 2023, we will visit Osaka, Tokyo, and Kyoto. I will experience a new culture and gain insight on how things work in different parts of the world. I am also looking forward to trying all of the different foods and seeing the rich culture that is captured and preserved in Japan.
I want to go to Japan because I would love to see all of the history that is preserved in Japan, such as the amazing architecture. It would also be amazing to experience Japan’s cultural heritage.I am currently learning about Japan in my AP World class and I would love to experience the culture that I am learning about. Learning about different places has always been fascinating to me. I find that the past is just as important as our future, especially in other countries. Being able to experience a different culture will allow me to expand my mind.
