Dear family, friends, and generous donors,
I have another wonderful and fantastic opportunity to travel with Cinnamongirl’s Travelgirl cohort and gain more knowledge as well as independence! I am truly grateful for this opportunity. In June, my fellow Cinnamongirls and I will travel to Kyoto, Osaka, and Tokyo, Japan. Each of us are working to raise $6,500 to cover our travel expenses. With your help, I will be able to achieve this goal and experience traveling to an amazing new country.
The purpose of our trip to Japan is to experience Japanese society and culture first hand and examine the relationship between the African American and Asian community. I’m particularly interested in learning about technology development in Japan and how American culture may influence the country. I’m excited to say this will be my second time traveling overseas but my first time traveling to the continent. To have the chance of traveling with ten other girls just like me is truly amazing and exhilarating.
A little about me, I am originally from Arizona and moved to the state of North Carolina when I was just ten years old. My hobbies are writing, singing, painting, and listening to music. I really love traveling to see friends and family, and enjoy going on adventures and discovering new places. I am also really into fashion, design, and history. I love volunteering and helping the community. Black and female empowerment are two things I personally focus on and I enjoy learning and educating others about them.
This is my third year traveling with Cinnamongirl. It has been an experience that I will never forget. I look forward to using and applying what I learn on this trip as I further my education and grow as an individual.
