Hello! My name is Trinity Trotter. I am currently a part of two Cinnamongirl cohorts, Passport Book Club 2 and Travelgirl. For the first 11 years of my education, I have attended the Chinese American International School (CAIS). While in school, I have studied the Mandarin language, Chinese culture and traditions. My time at CAIS has given me greater insight in Chinese culture and some history of Asia. I would like to explore more Asian history and culture and traveling to Japan gives me that opportunity. This trip will give me the opportunity to immerse myself in another culture in Asia, and the chance to try new things while further exploring my curiosity of the world with the Travelgirls cohort.
The best part about traveling with the Travelgirl cohort is the opportunity to travel alongside girls who look like me. It gives me the chance to step into my leadership and out of my comfort zone to learn more about my fellow Travelgirls and to learn more about the Japanese culture which I know little about. I am extremely excited about tasting the famous Japanese cuisine. I love food! Specifically, sushi! I love to eat it all the time and now I will be able to experience it in its country of origin. That’s even better!
I am currently in the eighth grade. I love listening to music, dancing, art, painting, cooking, traveling, reading history, writing, and theater. One of my life goals is to visit each continent. At the age of four, I traveled to Mexico, and as a 13 year old I have been fortunate to have traveled to the continents of Africa and Europe. I am looking forward to adding Japan as my adventure to the continent of Asia.
I will be traveling to the cities of Tokyo, Osaka, and Kyoto, in Japan from June 20 to June 30, 2023. While I am in Japan, I plan to learn more about daily life in Japan, culture and the Japanese language. I have a love for languages. One of my travel goals is to learn more about the languages of each country I visit. I am very excited to learn some Japanese and explore its relationship with Mandarin. Lastly, I look forward to tasting some Japanese tea, but I am a little skeptical of drinking tea without adding sugar. Overall, this trip is the opportunity of a lifetime and I am blessed to join such an amazing group of girls and mentors.
I would be honored if you would help me to realize this opportunity to travel with Cinnamongirl to experience Japanese culture, history and everyday lifestyle.
