Give Girls A Once In A Lifetime Trip To Japan

From bullet trains to spirited young feet, we will meander for 10 days throughout three fantastical Asian cities: Tokyo, Osaka, and Kyoto. Our Travelgirls have fundraised for 10 months and have come together monthly to study the culture and customs of Japan. In a few weeks, we will set out to the far east on an adventure that will undoubtedly change the way we see home and the world forever!

Join me in this particular mission to bring 12 amazing high-performing Black girls (ages 15-17) and their mentors to experience fascinating lands, historical temples, amazing cooking classes, and an adventure into how young people are reshaping various industries in Japan. We’ll delve into art, technology, history, climate change, ancient myths, architecture, and even Zen! We plan to meet a few leaders who are working in the country as academics, business executives, and US government officials.

My team and I are working hard to give our girls experiences that will widen their perspective, challenge their thinking, and grow their understanding – but we are shy about $15,000. Some of the experiences we still need to secure:

• A student travel guide who could help translate, and show us their city, through their lens–about $300/day for 5 days.

• A photographer to capture group shots or just stills and video that will help promote our travel program and provide our girls quality keepsake images that capture various moments of our stay––about $1000.

• A phenomenal dining experience with an interpreter –about $2000 for our entire group.
