My destination is Peru

Hello everyone! My name is Joella. After an unbelievable trip to Japan in June 2023, I am looking forward to my second year traveling with Cinnamongirl. This time, we’re headed to Peru!

When I joined Cinnamongirl in September 2022, the Travelgirl cohort connected me to an amazing group of girls and mentors. Our trip to Japan was an incredible experience for all of us. Every day was filled with activities and cultural exposure. From Japanese history, traditions, societal structure, excursions, and other immersive experiences, we learned so much and had tons of fun. Japan will always be an experience that I hold very closely to my heart. Not just for the sights that I got to see or the food I ate, but the friendships I made with my Cinnamongirl sisters.

Next up is Peru.

I’m looking forward to having many exciting experiences in Peru. There are a number of historic sites that I hope we’re able to visit. I'd like to see an alpaca in person for the first time. I want to visit Lake Titicaca, which is the highest lake in the world and is as tall as Mt. Fuji which I had the pleasure of seeing last year in Japan. And because I love to try different cuisines, Peruvian dishes and corn nuts are at the top of my list. Lastly, traveling to Peru will give me the opportunity to brush up on my Spanish skills after a few years of not speaking on a daily basis.

Everyone who knows me knows that international travel is a passion for me. My goal is to visit every continent at least once. Like our last trip, we’ll get free time to explore on our own, which is a level of freedom I don’t typically get at home.
