My name Is Chelsi Woods and I am 14 years old. I am fundraising money so I can go on a trip to Colombia with an organization called Cinnamongirl Inc. This would be an amazing, life changing experience for me.

Going to Colombia with new people I have never met before, sounds like an adventure. There are so many things to look forward to on this trip like seeing the Colombian people and their lifestyles. I would particularly like to see Colombian people who are descendants of the slave trade.

Trying new things can be hard for me, but when I have a friend with me it is much easier which is why I am looking forward to sharing this experience with the ten other girls in the cohort. Going on a trip with new people really would help me get out of my comfort zone and make new friends. This trip would definitely help me get out of my shell of being shy because I will be on my own without my parents. I will need to speak for myself and be more independent.

One thing that I would like to try out is photography to document my trip. Colombia would be the perfect place for photography because it has beautiful places and outstanding monuments. Pictures with places like these would be good to bring back home to the U.S. so that I can share my amazing experience with my family and friends.
