Experiences Help Girls of Color Grow into Powerful Changemakers

Some people give children a globe, but Cinnamongirls get to experience the world firsthand! We have designed a life-altering travel experience for girls poised to transform the world. More than mere sightseeing and cultural exchange, our cohort will be encouraged to overcome limiting beliefs, recognize misguided perceptions, and embrace informed global citizenship.

In June 2023, Cinnamongirls will descend on the shores of Tokyo, Osaka, and Kyoto, Japan to scoop up a bit of culture, history and language from these vibrant, busy, and yet so serene islands. We are so very delighted to make this adventure a reality for 14 amazing Cinnamongirls.

We seek at least 19 fundraisers to assist in our $95,000 goal. Our Travelgirls are raising the bare miniumum for their travels, but it leaves out a lot. Help them experience a cooking class, a formal tour to the town of technology, Akihabara, a tea ceremony, or a kimono fitting experience. Fundraising is easy and can make a huge difference in the experiences we offer each of our Travelgirls.

By the end of May 2023, we hope to reach our goal (at minimum). Please join the Travelgirls and support the experiences that can alter a life, change a girl's perspective, and reveal a whole new world of understanding.

Why Cinnamongirl:

Girls of color, in particular, face huge obstacles. First, it's not easy to dream a life for yourself when you don't see many examples of excellence. Second, the higher she climbs the professional ladder, the more lonely her path becomes. She is often the only person of color in the room. We must help her see the possibilities for her life, and then prepare her mind and heart to endure the struggle she will inevitably face. We then surround her with other like-minded superstars, so she is always supported, and never alone.
